Great morning of presentations. Each group found a way to incorporate their own creativity into the presentations- I learned a lot from each presentation and look forward to learning/employing these apps into future presentation and applying in the classroom.
Here's the breakdown of each presentation:
Johnathan & Angela
Great use of apps, solid definition of convergent technologies. I like how the apps were layered- example, KidsArt with Tellagami as an example. Non-verbal students presumed competency is very important. Good breakdown of neuroscience and the connection to differentiated. Fun way of employing iMovie- I thought the presenters were reflective.
- - Solid breakdown of disruptive technologies
- - Two Tellagami videos together in PicPlay post was a very creative medium.
- - Great preliminary conversation about differentiated vs. universal design
Ashley & Ainsle- Frizzy Hair Designs- awesome theme!!
-
Very cool use of iMovie trailer?? Want to learn
more?
-
Sock puppets App? Neat little app
-
Skitch App
-
To mesh book videos- bring them into the book
-
Very cool thematic approach to align disruptive technology
with curly hair
-
Key terms- creative and realistic approach
Shauna & Liz:
-
Videoscribe- very cool app used to introduce
assistive technology
-
Videoing the screen with the iPad to transfer
videos was useful
-
Very cool iMovie trailer- great analysis of concepts (assistive technology, convergence of technology, UDL, etc.) throughout the presentation.
Mark & Darah:
-
App Smash Activity, great introduction. The
assisitive technology video with the student with CP- engaging;
-
Video scribe- great way of demonstrating
convergence of technology and looking forward to exploring this app in more detail.
-
Great use of strip design, good layering of apps
-
Wordfoto- great example of this app
Janet & Lindsay
-
Tune camera- hopefully we will spend time exploring this app. I thought the use of Stripdesign was very useful- I used to assign Comic Life routinely for students to explain/define more obscure science concepts as I felt visuals combined with fun were an easier way to breakdown more complex concepts- Strip Design however will be my new Comic Life. As Janet & Lindsay demonstrated, it is a far more user friendly and dynamic app.
-
Very cool chronological breakdown of convergent
technology-
-
Great use of kidspiration & PicPlay Post
SSimon & Eleanor:
- Very cool iMovie trailer. I thought the breakdown of convergent of technology/conversation was practical. The Stephen Hawking video regarding assistive technology is a powerful video. Using the assistive technology to embed the voice to different people. Also, I thought the use of Garage Band added another engaging dynamic to the presentation and serves as a great app for those that are musically inclined.
Ashley & Natalie
The use of Helen Keller as an example of presumed competence and the Temple Granden was very engaging. Such as the case in Helen Keller's situation, it is essential that we as teacher always assume competency and employ every tool possible in order for students to demonstrate understanding.
Very comprehensive breakdown of Apps and concepts for presentation. Edu-creation App was useful and would be helpful for students in class to record notes, ideas and demonstrate understanding.
Candice & Meaghan
- - Tellagami intro was fun
- The umbrella image to define assistive technology was very useful/practica
- The Download App was a useful application
- Color Splash is a fun way to alter images
- Video for presumed confidence was very explicit and powerful
- Tellagami video regarding assistive technology was useful and served as an authentic example and demonstrated the practical nature of assistive technology.
Christie:
- Great intro with terms
- Great intro with terms
S - Strip Design App was used very effectively. Great use of background music- also Douglas Biklen breakdown of presumed competency & the blog post for Callum
- The WordFoto breakdown of UDL was useful and practical
- PicPlay Post- I will certainly attempt to use this app for future projects/work with students.
- Great conversation regarding disruptive technology and the emergence of iCloud and gaming as the next disruptive technology that will impact this generation.
